The Children's Attention Home would like to thank Duke Enegry and Asplundh Tree Services. For the 3rd year, they stopped by May 14th and did a fantastic job working on the grounds of the Children's Attention Home.
On May 12, the Children's Attention Home was presented with a check for $10,000 by AbitibiBowater.
Mike Channell and Tim Jones of the Honor Guard Motorcycle Ministry present a check to CAH Assistant Director, Becky Wright. This years Honor Ride raised over $4,000 dollars for the Home. We would like to thank the Honor Guard and everyone who participated in the ride for all their continued support.

My name is Ryan. I am twelve years old and in the sixth grade. I am a very fortunate child. When I heard about the Children’s Attention Home, I knew I needed to help those children who have lived in terrible situations.
When I was ten, my Aunt gave me an article from People magazine about a girl named Hannah. One day in the winter, Hannah was walking down the streets of her town with her Mom. Hannah saw a homeless person with no socks or shoes. She asked her Mom if she could give the man her shoes, but her Mom convinced her that they wouldn’t fit the man. From then on she collected socks and shoes for the homeless in her community. Hannah inspired me to help my community also.
Over the past two years, I have collected over eight-hundred pairs of socks for the Children’s Attention Home through my church, RMC Ministries, and also my first year, Northside Elementary School of the Arts helped, too. Wal-Mart, in 2009, and Target, in 2010, have generously matched the monetary donations that I received.
I hope to continue my charity, Spring Into Socks, in future years and also hope to inspire someone in a city far away just as Hannah has done for me.

Dear CAH,

I learned about you at my church, RHCC, and decided to help. My name is Annelise and I'm in 3rd grade. I raised $185.00 by running a concession stand at a cub scout derby. I also plan to dedicate a dance to your kids at our church talent show. It's called "Dear Mr. Jesus" and it's about child abuse. I'd like to learn more about how I can help.

Love,

Annelise

Saturday, April 17 the Mineral Springs UMC 4th and 5th grade Sunday school class sponsored the Kids Helping Kids Rally & Fundraiser which included food and entertainment. We would like to thank everyone who participated and attended the free event, which raised $1,153 dollars for the Children's Attention Home.
Sanna Tucker and Katie Rowan hosted a Pajama Party on Friday, February 5. Their goal was to collect pajamas and donate them to the Children's Attention Home for Valentines Day. The response from their girl scouts, coworkers, family, friends and their children was so great that they ended up with almost 100 sets of pajamas! On behalf of everyone here we would like to thank Sanna, Katie, and everyone involved.
Mrs. Weaver's and Mrs. Reynolds's Kindergarten classes, from Westminster Catawba Christian School, collected 100 pennies for attending school for 100 days.  They took their 100 pennies plus 7 cent tax to the Dollar Store along with the needs list from the Children's Attention Home.  These children collected over 100 items for the children and the Home.
